Objective of the Program
The RECOS project – Resilience of Coastal Ecosystems in the South-West Indian Ocean – leads an experience exchange programme designed to build capacity among stakeholders in coastal and marine zone management within IOC member states. Funded by the French Development Agency (AFD) and the French Global Environment Facility (FFEM), this program aims to enhance the expertise and resilience of coastal ecosystems in the region.
Main Principles of the Program
- Transfer and Application of Expertise: The program focuses on sharing and applying integrated coastal zone management knowledge through field visits across the region.
- Voluntary Participation: Participants engage on a voluntary basis, with the program covering costs related to travel, including plane tickets, accommodation, and vehicle rentals.
- Personalized Support: The RECOS project team offers tailored support to all participants.
- Rolling Applications: Requests are processed continuously, ensuring ongoing opportunities for engagement.
Duration
The program runs for the entire duration of the RECOS project, until May 2026, subject to the availability of funds.
