The main purpose of knowledge exchange is to connect MPA practitioners from the WIO with each other so they can discuss their work, learn from one another — and achieve improvements in results. Sharing knowledge, especially experiential knowledge, is a key ingredient in innovation. Knowledge exchange is essential to achieve continual learning from experience and apply that learning to improve MPA management effectiveness.
We use different approaches, including exchange visits, platforms and software tools that enable online networking and knowledge sharing across countries, supporting MPA managers to grow, co-create solutions, share successes and key resources. The exchange visits is to allow MPA managers and other stakeholders to benefit from lessons learnt from successful experiences to build operational responses tailored to their own needs.
