The MARCOP Programme is a five-year initiative aimed at implementing GBF Target 3 in the Western Indian Ocean. Endorsed by the UN Ocean Decade Programme, MARCOP focuses on sustainable governance, planning, and management of the region. It offers tailored environmental and management solutions, along with technical, financial, and institutional support to meet the specific needs of local, sub-national, and national stakeholders. Key objectives include enhancing stakeholder capacity, integrating science into policymaking, and fostering collaborations with governments and communities to improve science and policy uptake.
