Attention aspiring researchers and conservation enthusiasts! The RECOS project (Resilience of Coastal Populations and Ecosystems in the South-West Indian Ocean) has announced a thrilling call for applications for doctoral and post-doctoral fellowships. This incredible opportunity, funded by the Indian Ocean Commission (IOC), focuses on the Effectiveness of Marine Protected Areas in the WIO (Western Indian Ocean) and Environmental Education in Coastal Areas. If you have a passion for ecology, environmental sciences, or related fields and hail from Comoros, Madagascar, Mauritius, or Seychelles, this could be the chance of a lifetime!
The RECOS project aims to strengthen regional scientific cooperation in the conservation and restoration of coastal ecosystems while generating valuable scientific knowledge. As part of this initiative, two fellowships will be awarded to exceptional individuals with a Master’s or Ph.D. in Ecology, Environmental Sciences, Geography, or a relevant field related to the monitoring, conservation, or integrated management of Coastal Zones.
Successful applicants will benefit from financial support provided by the RECOS project and will have access to invaluable guidance and supervision from universities and regional research centers in eligible countries and/or France. Collaborative efforts and co-supervision are highly encouraged, further enriching the research experience.
This exceptional opportunity is made possible through the generous co-financing of the Agence française de développement (AFD) and the Fonds français pour l’environnement mondial. By participating in the RECOS project, you will actively contribute to regional scientific cooperation and play a significant role in addressing the challenges faced by coastal populations and ecosystems in the South-West Indian Ocean.
