Dr. Mohammed Said Omar and Warden Dadley Tsiganyiu from Kenya Wildlife Service, together with Arthur Tuda ( WIOMSA), were on hand at the United Nations Ocean Conference to attend the 2022 Blue Park Award Ceremony and to collect the plague for the 2021 Blue Parks Award accorded to Kisite Mpunguti Marine Park.The award was presented by the President of the Marine Conservation Institute, Dr. Lance Morgan, on 1st July 2022. The Blue Park Award recognizes outstanding efforts by national governments, nonprofit organizations, MPA managers, and local communities to effectively protect marine ecosystems now and for the future. The award has been given annually since its launch in 2017.
