Are you about to submit a scientific article?

Dear RECOS member,

As part of our efforts to strengthen scientific cooperation within the Indian Ocean Commission (IOC) countries, we offer a range of support to researchers, including consultation platforms (thematic working groups) and funding opportunities for theses, post-doctorates, and master’s research.

But did you know?
We also provide financial support for scientific publishing! RECOS members of thematic groups can apply to have their publication fees covered when submitting articles to A-rank journals.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Membership: At least one author must be a member of a RECOS thematic group.
  • Nationality: Applicants must be nationals of one of the IOC countries (Madagascar, Comoros, Réunion, Seychelles, or Mauritius).
  • Regional Representativeness: The study site must include at least one location in the IOC region.
  • RECOS Theme: The article must align with one or more RECOS thematic sections.
  • Data Validity: Data must be recent, with the most up-to-date information not predating 2023.
  • Timing: The article must be submitted no later than 6 months before the end of the RECOS project (May 2026).

How to Apply:
Fill out the online application form, and the UGP team will review your submission. If your article meets all criteria, you’ll be contacted. Preference will be given to young researchers, including doctoral and master’s students.
