Predation survey training

How Kisite Mpunguti Marine Park MPA staff is incorporating a learning approach to better MPA management!
The Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS) in partnership with the Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) hosted a two-day training workshop on how to conduct predation surveys. The MPA
practitioners were trained on fish identification, fish predation and fish habitat identification, and conducted field surveys to identify and collect specimens of sea urchin (echinometra mathaei). As a result of this fruitful partnership and workshop, a team of six KWS Kisite Mpunguti Marine Park MPA staff are now equipped to conduct predation surveys and continue monitoring in the Kisite Mpunguti Marine Park.
