Hifadhi Blu has launched its Gender Action Plan (2025–2029) to put equity at the center of marine conservation in the Western Indian Ocean. The plan tackles barriers that keep women, youth, and marginalized groups from fully participating in ocean governance — from limited access to resources to underrepresentation in leadership roles.
Every Hifadhi Blu project will now be guided by this framework, ensuring inclusive participation, capacity building, and recognition of traditional knowledge. By embedding equity into conservation work, we strengthen both community resilience and the effectiveness of marine protection.
When everyone has a voice, the ocean has a future.
