Yet in many places fishing is already guided by Regional Fisheries Management Organisations (RFMOs).<\/p>\n<p>In recent years, we\u2019ve seen significant breakthroughs but also challenges in international fisheries management as RFMOs seek to broker agreement between nations. The adoption of harvest strategies by major tuna RFMOs shows negotiations can bring positive results, but in the North East Atlantic governments continue to struggle to reach consensus on sustainable quotas.<\/p>\n<p>In this session we\u2019ll explore the challenge of securing a future for fish in international waters. How are decisions reached, what influences them, and where is there room for improvement?
