IUCN-Papaco (Programme on African Protected Areas & Conservation) is launching a brand\u00a0new series of online learning courses<\/b>\u00a0adapted to different profiles of professionals working in protected areas. Each course is built on 50 videos (from our MOOCs<\/i>) followed by quizzes to enable protected area actors to develop the skills<\/b>\u00a0that are essential for their\u00a0profession<\/b>.<\/u><\/u><\/u>\u00a0<\/u><\/p>\n

  1. The\u00a0RANGER Essential<\/b>\u00a0is meant for\u00a0guards and field agents<\/b>\u00a0working mainly on data collection, anti-poaching, guiding etc. This Essential aims at developing the skills to implement field activities and the behaviour needed to accomplish this.<\/u><\/u><\/li>\n
  2. <\/u>\u00a0<\/u>The\u00a0MANAGER-LAW and MANAGER-R Essentials<\/b>\u00a0target\u00a0technicians and managers<\/b>\u00a0working in the direction and management of medium-sized organisations, in planning and management of projects and programmes that are more or less technical and complex. The two courses develop global management skills, but also more specialised ones: anti-poaching, valorisation of the territory (Manager-Law), assessment and analysis, ecological monitoring, research (Manager-research).<\/u><\/u><\/li>\n
  3. <\/u>\u00a0<\/u>The LEADER Essential<\/b>\u00a0is mainly for\u00a0managers working<\/b>\u00a0in central management of parks or large NGOs, they elaborate national and regional policies, they proceed to cross-sectoral coordination and manage complex plans and programmes. This course focuses on more general skills to enable a better understanding of the stakes of biodiversity conservation, all for better decision-making.\u00a0<\/u><\/u><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
