CHARACTERIZATION OF MACRO AND MESO MARINE LITTER IN THE SOUTHWESTERN REGION OF MADAGASCAR

The research project is still ongoing at this time, but positive impacts can already be seen in the communities where I am conducting the research. It has a positive impact on the behavior and habits of the people, they are used to seeing our team collecting waste on the beaches and this makes them aware of not throwing their waste anywhere. As a result, we see less waste on the beaches.

At the level of schools where awareness sessions on the negative impacts of marine litter have been conducted, they are currently organizing monthly litter collections on the beaches. The schoolchildren feel more responsible and involved in the fight against marine pollution.
